Juniors and Seniors spent time this morning at the College Fair at Jefferson College, connecting with college representatives and learning more about the opportunities available after high school. We love seeing our Dragons exploring their options and planning for their future!

A Little Extra Joy at DHS last week!
Our therapy dog, Marty, spent some time visiting with students last week, bringing plenty of smiles, comfort, and puppy love to all! Marty even attended Pottery class and Mrs. Sutton says he earned an A.

Senior parents, do not forget to mark your calendars to attend the senior parent night. Mrs. Schutte will cover all things senior year and graduation with senior parents on Tuesday, September 22nd in the theater as 6:00 PM.
IMPORTANT: EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY
This morning, a food truck struck power lines at De Soto Primary, causing multiple power lines to come down and resulting in a power outage that is impacting district operations.
Due to the nature of the outage, **all De Soto #73 students will be dismissed early today, Wednesday, September 16.**
Early Dismissal Schedule:
De Soto Intermediate – 10:45 AM
ECC – 10:45 AM
De Soto Primary – 11:15 AM
De Soto High School & De Soto Middle School – 12:45 PM
IMPORTANT – De Soto Primary Parent Pick-Up
Due to the downed power lines behind De Soto Primary, vehicles are currently unable to follow the normal parent pick-up route around the school.
Families picking up students at De Soto Primary should not arrive until 11:45 AM. At that time, vehicles should enter at the front of the building from the Flucom Road side. Pick-up lines will be formed in front of the building, and staff will assist families with the alternative dismissal process.
Please follow the directions of staff when arriving and use extra caution in the area due to the downed power lines.
All students will be provided a meal before dismissal.
Families should make arrangements for their child’s early arrival home and ensure someone is available at the bus stop, if needed.

From troubleshooting technology issues to maintaining our network and helping teachers and students have the tools they need to learn. The De Soto HS Theatre Department proudly sent our ITS Troupe #5087 Officers to the annual Missouri State Leadership Conference in the Ozarks!
Our student officers spent the weekend learning, collaborating, and connecting with theatre students and educators from across Missouri. They had the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, gain new ideas for our troupe, and bring that knowledge and inspiration back to DHS Theatre.
We are incredibly proud of our student leaders and the time, dedication, and passion they continue to give to our theatre program!
Our student officers spent the weekend learning, collaborating, and connecting with theatre students and educators from across Missouri. They had the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, gain new ideas for our troupe, and bring that knowledge and inspiration back to DHS Theatre.

De Soto Senior High Update for Friday, September 4th
All buses have now left the Middle and High School following the conclusion of our third day of school. Students who ride the bus are currently on their way home.
Arrival times will vary by route and may be later than the times listed in Infinite Campus. During the first week, loading and routes may take longer as students learn their assigned buses and stops and drivers become familiar with new routes.
This information was also sent to all secondary families via text message and email.
Thank you for your patience as we work to transport every student home safely. It has been a great first week of school! We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday!

EVERY FRIDAY IS HAT DAY AT DHS!
Students can wear a hat every Friday throughout the school year for just $1.00! All proceeds will support the Junior Class as they raise money for the 2027 Junior/Senior Prom.
To participate, students must check in with Mrs. Reese or Mr. Trentman each Friday at either the gym entrance or main entrance, pay their $1.00, and receive a stamp showing they are eligible to wear a hat.
Wear your favorite hat, support the Junior Class, and help make the 2027 Prom a success!
Attention Senior Parents: Please mark your calendars now for the senior parent night on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6-7 pm in the high school theater. Attending this event will ensure you have all you need to know to get you and your senior through 1st semester. A Spring Parent Meeting will be held in March to discuss how to successfully wrap up senior year.
DHS families are on campus painting their parking spots early this morning. We are excited to start this tradition!
