De Soto #73 School District is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its talented student musicians following the East Central District 7 (ECD7) All-District Band auditions held on November 3, 2026.

Approximately 400 students representing more than 20 schools competed for positions in the All-District Concert and Jazz Bands. Despite the strong competition, De Soto students earned multiple placements in both ensembles, with several musicians advancing to the 2026 All-State auditions.

All-District Concert Band Selections

The following students were selected to represent De Soto in the All-District Concert Bands, which will perform on Saturday, November 7, at Farmington High School.

ECD7 All-District High School Concert Band

ECD7 All-District Middle School Concert Band

De Soto will also be well represented in the All-District Jazz Bands, scheduled to perform on Saturday, December 12, at North County High School.

Seven Students Advance to All-State Auditions

Seven De Soto musicians have earned the opportunity to audition for the 2026 All-State Concert and Jazz Bands on December 6 in Columbia, Missouri.

Students advancing to the All-State auditions include:

• Ethan F. – Jazz Tenor Saxophone

• Weston O. – Jazz Guitar

• Mary F. – Concert Flute

• Lyndsey A. – Concert Clarinet

• Olivia H. – Jazz Alto Saxophone

These students will compete alongside talented musicians from across Missouri for the opportunity to earn a place in the prestigious All-State ensembles.

A Historic First for De Soto

Adding to this year's accomplishments, De Soto will celebrate an exciting milestone as Violet H. becomes the district's first-ever student to audition for the All-State Orchestra.

Violet will audition on the Double Bass on December 6 in Columbia, marking a historic moment for the De Soto music program.
