Dear Students, Parents, and Community,

We take pride in providing an educational atmosphere that is both challenging and rewarding for all.  Every school year more than 3,100 students age PreK-12 enter our community schools and have access to a multitude of wonderful educational opportunities provided by the generous taxpayers in our district.   De Soto values education and the start of this school year is especially exciting because of the renewed focus on building the future together.   Working together for our students, we can achieve .

Critical to our continued success is the uniting of people, programs and resources. A few of our priorities include effective communication and service, quality instruction and interventions, and overall safety and character development. As we enter a new school year, we will continue to improve our responsiveness to students, parents, families, and staff.

Our instructional staff will focus on collaboration with each other to ensure that we have system-wide curricula that is connected to defined standards and is consistent across grade levels with clear expectations for instruction. We continue to communicate what needs to be taught, how it needs to be taught, and when it needs to be taught as aligned to the state and national standards. We continue to stress the need to check for and respond to student understanding, to interact positively and respectfully with students, to engage all students in learning, to assess student progress, and communicate progress related to standards.

School improvement is not an easy road to travel; it is time consuming and necessitates heartfelt involvement. It comes with the need for parents, students, teachers, and administrators to be connected and knowing what students need to be successful. Our school district excels due to the remarkable job of supporting our students and setting high expectations. We want our students to know how much it matters that we prepare, serve, and protect them during their school years with us.

Respectfully,

Dr. Joshua J. Isaacson
