Data Privacy Agreements

De Soto #73 School District uses a variety of district-approved educational apps and websites to support a dynamic, engaging learning experience.  Our district uses resources such as Missouri Student Privacy Alliance (MOSPA) and Education Framework (EdPrivacy) to evaluate educational apps and websites we use to ensure they are appropriate for our learning environment.

The EdPrivacy platform reviews the privacy and safety of online applications based on compliance with FERPA, COPPA and state privacy requirements. It utilizes machine learning-based artificial intelligence to create privacy quality scores for thousands of online technology resources commonly used in classrooms across the country. The scores help educators and administrators quickly identify safe online technologies and easily determine which service providers respect and protect student data privacy.

MOSPA, in conjunction with the SDPC, provides K-12 members tools and resources to ensure student data is protected in the districts. The goal is to provide common expectations between the district and vendor and streamline the agreement process.  In addition to MOSPA, as members, De Soto #73 takes advantage of the managed services of The Education Cooperative (TEC). TEC Service provides many resources to help schools ensure student data privacy and helping to increase compliance.
